Hand Carry Customs Clearance
Travelers carrying commercial goods or samples may need to obtain customs clearance or temporary import approval from customs prior to entry into Australia.
Commercial items and samples, with a value greater that AU$1,000, must be formally declared to Customs by lodgement of an import declaration and assessed for duty/GST and other border risk assessments, Failure to declare commercial items to customs may result in Customs and Border Protection holding your goods until such time as the value of the goods can be determined, fines, and or seizure of undeclared goods.
The department of agriculture is also tasks with risk assessing imported personal and commercial consignments for their ability to harm Australia and its environment, server penalties can apply for failing to declare items of interest.
If you intend to arrive into Australia with commercial items we can pre-clear those for you with Australian customs. We will provide you with a copy of the customs clearance and forward a copy to the customs team in your arrival port they will match their record of clearance with your goods before granting them entry into Australia
Generally 6 hours once all documents received, additional time will be required if entry is subject to Quarantine or other regulatory requirements.

Australian Border Force & Quarantine Charges at cost
if your goods require Quarantine assessment there will be extra charges. These charges are dependent on the directions given by AQIS. They range from $49.00 for document assessment up to $145.00 onwards for visual examination and additional requirements such as fumigation and or destruction of the goods.
